Meet The Team
Danielle Hoffman, Licensed Master Esthetician & Owner
Danielle, known to many of her clients as Dani, was raised in Charles County. She has a passion for helping people feel confident, comfortable, and cared for. After spending several years in the medical field as a medical assistant, she discovered esthetics in 2013 and found the perfect way to combine her love of science, wellness, and helping others.
Her career has taken her from Maryland to Florida and Virginia, where she gained experience in a variety of settings including day spas, facial plastics, holistic wellness centers, and a nationally recognized waxing franchise, where she became a top-level wax specialist and trainer. That diverse background allows her to blend advanced treatment techniques with a personalized, whole-body approach to skin health.
Dedicated to lifelong learning, Danielle earned her Master Esthetician license in 2016 and continues to pursue advanced education in skincare, hair removal, lash and brow services, acne, dermaplaning, microneedling, and holistic skin wellness. She believes the best results come from understanding not only the skin, but the person behind it.
In the fall of 2022, Danielle opened Renew Skin Studio in La Plata with a vision of creating a welcoming space where every treatment is customized to the individual. As Renew grew, so did that vision. In early 2026, the business expanded into Renew Skin & Wellness, bringing together a talented team of estheticians who share her commitment to education, results, and genuine client care.
Whether you're coming in for a facial, waxing, or another treatment, you can expect an experience that is both results-driven and deeply relaxing. Danielle believes healthy skin starts from within, that no two skin journeys are the same, and that every client deserves to leave feeling refreshed, confident, and cared for.
When she isn't in the treatment room you might find her with her boyfriend Brandon at the beach or on a boat, in the summer. Enjoying a evening by the fire pit with a smoked old fashion in the Fall. Or hibernating the best she can in the winter.
At this time, Danielle's schedule is reserved for her existing clients. She is excited to welcome new clients to the talented estheticians of the Renew Skin & Wellness team, whom she has personally trained and continues to mentor. Mckenzie Bishard, Licensed Esthetician
Originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, McKenzie began her career in the medical field, working alongside several medical specialists. After relocating to Southern Maryland, she continued her work in healthcare, where she was introduced to the aesthetics industry while working in a medical spa. That experience sparked her passion for skincare and advanced treatments, ultimately leading her to pursue a career in aesthetics.
Encouraged by both her professional background and a strong relationship with her personal esthetician, McKenzie enrolled in esthetician school and is a recent graduate of Pro+ Skin Academy. There, she built a strong foundation in skin health, customized treatment planning, and professional skincare practices.
McKenzie believes skincare should be personalized, results-driven, and rooted in overall skin wellness. She is passionate about creating customized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique goals while still providing a relaxing, rejuvenating experience in the treatment room.
At Renew Skin & Wellness, McKenzie is focused on building meaningful relationships with her clients, growing her clientele, and confidently applying the techniques and knowledge she gained in school. She is committed to continued education and staying current with advancements in the industry.
Long-term, McKenzie hopes to expand her expertise in advanced skincare and eventually specialize in comprehensive bridal skin preparation — guiding clients through every stage of their journey to feeling confident in their skin.
Outside of the treatment room, McKenzie enjoys coastal living in SoMD with her husband, their German Shepherd, and three cats. She’s happiest near the water and enjoys traveling, shopping at TJ Maxx, and spending quality time with family.
Kelly Matthews, Licensed Master Esthetician
A Charles County native, Kelly began her career in healthcare as an EMT working in the emergency room in Alexandria, Virginia, where she spent five years caring for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. Driven by a passion for helping others in a different capacity, she transitioned into the field of esthetics to empower clients through confidence, education, and results-driven treatments.
Kelly attended Nova Laser & Esthetics School in Stafford, Virginia, earning her esthetician license in 2023. She launched her esthetics career in a medical spa setting, where she discovered a love for advanced skincare treatments and helping clients achieve their skin goals. Dedicated to continued growth and education, she returned to school in 2025 to obtain her Master Esthetician license and expand her expertise in advanced aesthetic procedures.
Her favorite treatment to perform is microneedling, thanks to its ability to create transformative, confidence-boosting results. When she's not in the treatment room, Kelly is a self-proclaimed lover of all things spooky, a devoted dog mom to her German Shepherd, Meeko, and an avid traveler. Whether she's riding camels through Egypt or enjoying cannolis in Italy, she embraces every adventure with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Kelly is passionate about combining compassion, knowledge, and advanced techniques to help each client look and feel their very best.
Tara Selckmann, Operations Manager
As Renew's Operations Manager, Tara helps keep everything running behind the scenes so our team can focus on caring for our clients. A longtime friend of Dani's, she's known for her kind heart, positive outlook, and ability to make everyone around her feel supported.
A photographer by trade, she has a gift for seeing beauty in the little things, from quiet moments in nature to the people around her. When she's not at Renew, she's spending time with her husband and their three children, two boys and a girl. She's happiest outdoors, has a soft spot for dragonflies and watermelon, and is always finding ways to brighten someone else's day. Her uplifting personality, encouraging spirit, and genuine kindness make her an irreplaceable part of the Renew family.
